The expectation is that recycled textile will form the basis for new clothing. Unfortunately, large amounts of textile are still not separated into pure monostreams, which means that the majority of end-of-life textile still ends up in incineration ovens. In our conviction, this is an unnecessary waste of valuable resources.

Make circular clothing accessible

Textile supply chain partners involved in upcycling end-of-life textiles are often inventive, and always establish a number of criteria that must be met by the start.

The textile to be processed must be a monomaterial and as pure as possible. If there is any mixing with another raw material, such as Lycra or a coating, this must be known in advance. The origin and composition of the materials must be known with certainty, as only then can a good result be expected.

This is the only way to prevent additional costs and disappointment. Due to functionality, workwear and corporate clothing usually consist of different types of fabrics and accessories, such as logos, labels, zippers, reflective materials, or other protective or lifespan-extending (textile) components.

With Wear2® Ecostitching Technology, garments can be easily disassembled and the resulting monomaterials can be processed into high-quality raw material for new clothing.

Holistic solutions

Clothing sewn with Wear2® Thread can be disassembled within 70 seconds and created monomaterials are suitable for upcycling.

To successfully apply Wear2® Ecostitching Technology, garments must be produced using Wear2® Thread.

These sewing threads are made of polyester with an innovative core composition that loses its strength after a brief treatment of electromagnetic energy. As a result, different material and/or fabrics, as well as accessories, can be quickly separated into monomaterials, making upcycling possible.

The goal is circularity from yarn to yarn.

At the basis of transparency, track & trace, and monitoring

It forms the basis for transparency, among other things, with the necessary material passport, and connects with the RFID chip attached to the clothing for track & trace at selected and recognized textile processors.

It also informs and advises on disassembly and sustainable follow-up.

Information from the platform is used to inform the end-user, via a QR code, about the origin, environmental impact, return advice, and sustainable follow-up of the clothing.

Efficient and selective disassembly of seams

Designed (engineered) for the disassembly of large industrial volumes of workwear and corporate clothing for high-quality processing.

This balanced technology makes it possible for seams to be selectively disassembled, after which the created monoflows are processed at a high level, preferably circularly → a closed loop from fiber to fiber.
