The National Sustainability Institute is the authority in the field of corporate social responsibility. By connecting consumers, companies and governments, they make sustainability accessible. The NDI is in favour of standardization and transparency. In this context, the institute has developed the Sustainability Codex, a free accessible register with global sustainability data. WEAR2GO supports this digital platform and acts as partner.
The link between NDI and WEAR2GO
The Circular Textile Concept of WEAR2GO aims the return and disassembly of end-of-life products, preferably to process them into new products in a circular (fibre-for-fibre) manner. Insight is essential to make this processtransparent. Together with NDI, we have developed a digital material passport with which products can be identified quickly and easily.
How does this technique work?
Garments for which Wear2® Ecostitching has been applied by means of a QR code and chip. This QR code or chip is generated by NDI when you register your products; this for a small fee. Organizations and users are then able to easily select and assess these products via the GSE® System (Global Sustainability Enterprise System).
Registration for the GSES Global Sustainable Enterprise System is possible via this link.
Vision and method
WEAR2GO as a partner endorses and motivates the vision of the National Sustainability Institute (NDI) that it is now high time to make a switch to sustainable business models:
Across the board, there is a momentum and a willingness to change.
Nonetheless, the world is not acting quickly enough to meet the ambitious goals of the Paris Accords. Aims of the agreement: to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius, with the clear goal of 1.5 degrees Celsius. The agreement will take effect from 2020.
Change should be driven by WANT and not by MUST: Inspire a desire to change from within.
Governments, organizations and citizens are ready for more sustainable choices, but often do not know how.
An holistic approach is the only way: Only by co-operation is it possible to change the world
NDI is in favor of standardization and links the existing certifications; in both generic and complementary solutions. This combined with a great external international audits and validation network in 77 countries. NDI offers with the new and accessible GSE® System a tooling set which create a new frame of reference of the sustainability valuation of your sustainability performances on all levels of the organization.
Global Sustainable Enterprise System GSE® System

GSES Sustainable Footprint Standard – Products/Projects/Raw materials
In extension of the GSE® SYSTEM Standard on an organizational level, we developed a three-stage generic product certification which measures products/projects, buildings & raw materials from all different sectors. With the Sustainable Footprint Standard the GSES offers a global solution for the generic measurement of products/projects, buildings & raw materials. The Sustainable Footprint Standard measures on 3 pillars:
Environmental Footprint® SGS & NDI created the LCA certification; the Environmental Footprint for products, projects and buildings. The EF® certification is based on the ISO 14040 and the PEF, In order to properly measure all products, projects & buildings on an environmental performance we need a generic method that can be used worldwide. This method became the EF® certification. End users of products can see exactly how their product or project is ranked on environmental performance using the QR code or NFC tag on the packaging or branding of the product/project.
Health Footprint®
NDI & Royal Haskoning DHV developped the Health Footprint. In order to properly measure all products/projects from all different sectors on health risks, we need a generic method that can be used worldwide. End users of products can see exactly how healthy or harmful their purchase is based on a QR code or NFC tag on the packaging of the product.
