Wear2® Thread
To successfully apply Wear2® Ecostitching Technology, garments need to be produced using Wear2® Thread.
These sewing threads are made of polyester (filament on the outside) and an innovative core composition. Under the influence of electromagnetic energy, this thread loses its strength, making it easy to disassemble clothing quickly.
De- or rebranding of clothing can also be applied with this technology. What happens to clothing that remains unsold despite clearance sales?
For years, it was destroyed (usually burned), but fortunately, certain countries have now banned this practice. Brands and retailers are therefore searching for new solutions for reuse.
De- or rebranding is a great solution that can be easily achieved with Wear2® Ecostitching Technology. Logos and other brand expressions sewn with Wear2® Thread can be removed within 70 seconds, after which this clothing can be given a completely new purpose.
This creates value without wasting resources, capital, or causing unnecessary environmental pollution.
Clothing can be fully sewn with Wear2® Thread, allowing it to be fully disassembled, but this is often not necessary.
The option to only sew additional components that make upcycling of the textile base material impossible with this sewing thread is more advisable.
Think of zippers, buttons, labels, logos, (high visibility) tapes, Velcro closures, patches, as well as other types of textiles such as, for example, linings or Cordura®.
To extend the lifespan of clothing, only everything related to the brand, such as logos and labels, can be attached with Wear2® Thread. If de- or rebranding is required, it is simple and affordable to carry out.
